YOU are a gift to the world.

Jami Gossett
I once heard a very successful speaker say, “If you want me to speak for an hour, I can do that right now.  If you want me to speak for 5 minutes, well that will take me a month to prepare.”  It’s true, communicating powerfully with brevity takes a tremendous amount of time, effort and intention (not to mention crazy amounts of inspiration).
All of which I had planned to invest when dreaming of this, my only written blog of the year.   At the same time, the beat was going on in every other nook and cranny of my life and time was starting to slip away.  I mentioned to my husband that I really wanted this Christmas to be different.  In that, I wanted to stop working constantly, reduce my stress, and really take time to reflect, rest and enjoy our family and our home.
I decided I didn’t want all the busyness to steal Christmas from me.  I stare at my un-decorated Christmas tree, the unbaked sugar cookies, and unwrapped presents.  The other undone things even more evident and serious.  No joy, no peace, no wonder.  Not even a measure of hope.  It was slipping from me.
I needed to make some executive decisions, pronto.  So while the busyness isn’t going to steal Christmas, this blog is a casualty.   I was so wrapped up in the message I wanted to convey. I thought it was genius, in its own little way.  BUT, as much as I loved the BLOG this was going to be.  I love even more what letting go is giving me.  More time to laugh and listen, cuddle and be still in the quiet morning hours.
So here, as concisely as I can in the time I have, is my message to you.

Jesus Christ came to save the world so that YOU would live, create, share, love, impact, entertain, serve, receive, worship Him, comfort, persevere, grow wise, learn and discover.

YOU are a gift to the world.  You and the gifts God put into you are vitally important. So important that Jesus Christ came to save the world so that YOU would live, create, share, love, impact, entertain, serve, receive, worship Him, comfort, persevere, grow wise, learn and discover.   If you have wondered if your gifts, passions, desires and creations matter.  Could there be any doubt?   It’s ok to be YOU, your biggest, best, amazing YOU!!  You don’t have to ask permission to use or express your gifts.  They are stewarded by you with God’s complete blessing!
So I wish you joy, peace, love and most of ALL hope.  And the time and energy to enjoy them…Merry Christmas friends, see you next year!!
